A series of kinetic type pieces that compose a musical trilogy from The Beatles' 1969 album, Abbey Road
Type arrangements of the lyrics were printed on a series of clear plastic and cut into concentric rings that move on a stable clear acrylic base.
I was particularly interested in the function of a record as something that continually spins a story, and, in the case of these Beatles songs, the narratives of three people or characters. The movement of the words around each other echoes the motion of a vinyl record, and the color and type treatment of each song reflects its rhythm and energy.
